Book Art

I painstakingly carved out an old, hardcover book to create this, glued the pages together to seal them, and in between layers of resin, added pebbles, glow-in-the-dark rocks, flower pieces, etc. I sealed the outer layer, painted it, and repapered the book, among many, many, many other steps.

The result - a critter oasis in the middle of the woods where dragonflies, lady bugs, and others can gather to rest and relax.

I've always loved nature, always believed that this world is a gift and that we should take better care of it. I hope this sentiment is reflected in my work.

And in case you're wondering: This upcycled book took months to create, which is why I've only done this a few times now, though I want to create more.
